NITRO DeLUXE is Young Manny Scretching Jr, born in Philadelphia on January 22, 1960 and raised in New York City. Manny has always had a deep involvement with music as well as the arts in general. Nitro started studying music at the age of nine. His first musical instrument was an electric bass guitar which he utilized in hope of becoming a future permanent fixture in the world of music. He majored in various instruments such as the percussion, trombone, timbales and, his personal favorite, the guitar. Nitro has been involved in many aspects of the music industry. In 1977, he worked as a soundman for the group FIRST CHOICE, and as a roadie for a local group in Philadelphia.
